My Colorado Rockies' Game Story
The Colorado Rockies truly are the team of comebacks one of this summer’s games proved just that statement! I had the wonderful opportunity to attend this exciting, action-packed game full of surprises.
When I got to the Rockies’ stadium in downtown, Denver I smelled the food, grass, and best of all a Rockies’ win. During the pre-game I enjoyed a cheeseburger while watching performances from many different people and watching the Rockies’ players warm up.

Although all the stats are important I think that there is one importantThese people also have arguments over what stat that defines a player the most and thatwhat stat makes a player "the best." My stance is that the stat that makes a player’splayer who they are is their batting average.

According to two credible websites I checked out, sportsillustrated.com and liquida.com/dustinpedroiasalary, a player is paid more money the better their batting average is. For example Albert Pujols, one of the best players at hitting for average, hit .314 and made 16 million dollars in one year. Another player, that’s not as good as Pujols, named Dustin Pedroia hit .296 and made 7.75 million dollars in one year.

Baseball as everyone has heard is America’s pastime and a favorite sport to many people in the USA. In baseball there are many statistics and things that analysts and fans look at to decide what the player’s attributes and abilities are. score runs?
I agree defense is important to the game of baseball, but ponder this, what if no one on your team had a good batting average but your defense is good? How are you going to score runs? You can’t that’s the answer, you can’t score runs without getting opportunities to score which comes from a player’s batting average. And without runs you can’t win games.

A: Yeah I like watching them on TV because you can see everything a little easier and replay is a little easier to look at, but being at the games is great too because of the atmosphere in the stadium.

Everyone agrees that most of the time baseball is not a very high scoring game because of the way it’s played. Baseball players need to perform well and also they need to strive to be the epitome of the best in batting average. High batting average everyone agrees gives a team a better chance to score runs as a team and ultimately win the baseball game. If multiple players have a batting average that’s high what do you think will happen to their opportunity to score runs?
I agree defense is important to the game of baseball, but ponder this, what if no one on your team had a good batting average but your defense is good? How are you going to score runs? Batting Average is truly the epitome of a good player in the world of baseball, because of the way America’s pastime is played and how the players play.

Into the 9th inning of the baseball game between the Rockies and the Cardinals was still knotted up at 7. The first batter Chris Iannetta changed the tie game by absolutely crushing a long ball to deep left field and the baseball game was over and the Rockies won!
When I got back to my house the replay of the game was on and something I saw made the night even more awesome. After one of the Cardinals had hit their homerun and almost hit me in the face I saw myself on TV and it wasn’t very clear but it was noticeable. This event was one of the highlights of my summer and the best Rockies game I’ve ever been to! =
